Time to catch up!!

I am shocked that I haven't posted since October 2008! So much has happened and I can't imagine how to decide what is post worthy or not. I have some thinking to do! One thing I know for sure..Wyatt has grown up...he's almost 14 years old! Much of his growing up has to do with the natural aging process..and some of it is just life as it happens.

Picking out a Pumpkin

Wyatt needed a pumpkin to take to school to do pumpkin carving so it was up to me to get the perfect carving pumpkin. He told me about this last week and do you think I took him to get one over the weekend? Nope! I put it off till the last minute something I am good at~sad but true~so yesterday I had no choice but to find a pumpkin or well I couldn't come home after work. I had a few items to get at Shaws so I thought for sure I would find a pumpkin there. Shaws had pumpkins but they were garbage! The stems were gone and well they were garbage like I said! So I got my few items and back on the road to search out a farm stand. Well here in Belmont we do have a farm stand it's actually a farm right on the side of the road I mean step out your front door on the road! I pulled in parked my car and hopped out with my $20.00 bill in hand nothing else~keys, cell phone, pocket book all left in my unlocked windows done car~and lets not forget right on the side of the road! Now you ask where is she going with this pumpkin story?? Well I am getting to it and I feel the details leading up to the actual story help give life to the story I am about to tell!
Now this is what happened~I couldn't have made this one up if I'd wanted to~I walked around looking at all the pumpkins that were placed around the building where they do all their farm stand business. Some were damaged or rotting when I entered the building I saw a sign that said big pumpkins $5.00 and got excited for one this wasn't going to cost me my whole twenty and secondly there were some pretty big pumpkins that looked great for carving. Now I had to take into consideration that Wyatt had to carry this pumpkin to school on the bus and then up the flight of stairs he has to climb just to get into the school so I had to get one that wasn't to big but not to small either. I found one that I thought was perfect and started for the front door of the house attached to the barn/farm stand to pay now I was carrying the pumpkin I had picked out and I rang the door bell~NOTHING! No one answered I went as far as to open the door and call out "Hello! I would like to buy a pumpkin!"~NOTHING. Now I am thinking I have found the perfect pumpkin and there's no one here to sell it to me~DAMN! I walk back to the farm stand and contemplate my situation. I could leave without the pumpkin and come back later or if I had a $5.00 bill I could leave a note saying I had come to buy a pumpkin and here's the money for the one I picked out, but nope I decided there was nooooooo way I was leaving without my pumpkin and since all I had was a twenty I had to find someone to take my money and give me change!! Now I had heard noise coming from somewhere inside the barn or at least I thought I had, but I couldn't see anyone or find anyone. All the while I am carrying this pumpkin that by now is feeling heavy~I decide to set it down in the farm stand find someone somehow and get one the road home. I am determine to march back to the house and walk farther into the house and really yell hello one more time when I hear a noise that sounds like a door closing in the barn. I hurry to the barn and yell "Hello!" and there's this old man~not the most friendly looking old man~standing in the opening. I tell him that I would like to buy a pumpkin~now remember I have already found the pumpkin I want, the pumpkin I have carried around for about 5 minutes already. He looks at me and points to a door in the barn that goes down to the basement and says go throught that door down stairs and pick out a pumpkin. Now I know what your thinking~she already picked a pumpkin out why would she go down stairs in the barn???!!! I have to admit this is the craziest part of my story~I went down those stairs never said a word about the pumpkin I had already picked out not a word! And this is what was running through my head~Oh my god I am going to go downstair and he is going to lock me down there and I will never get out it's days before Halloween and this is like a scene out of a scary movie! If I had been watching myself on a tv I would have been yelling don't be stupid everyone knows if you go down stairs your dead~you'll never leave! Any my car with all my personal belongings will be taken and hidden and no one will know I was there! But by god I went down those stairs! And there were all kinds of pumpkins and a big open door~so I had my escape route if the grumpy old farmer decided he wanted to keep me!! haha! I found a great medium size pumpkin for Wyatt~even better than the one I had seen up stairs and I marched up and paid the old fella and brought the pumpkin home for Wyatt~So now Wyatt when you read this someday you will know the great measures your mother had to go through to get the best pumpkin for you to carve! The End!

Wyatt the soccer star!

Ok I need to go back in time a week~It's Saturday October 18th~Stephen, Mom, Grampa Ron and I are sitting on the sidelines at Wyatt's soccer game~it's cold, but the sun at our backs feels great! The game is in full swing and our boys are playing the red team in one of the last games of the season~It was the first half of the game if my memory doesn't fail me, and our boys are playing top of their game. It happened so fast that I can't give you detailed moves leading up to MY SON's 1st GOAL!! It was awesome~we cheered, yelled and my son glowed with pride~and I cried!!
Now it's Saturday October 25th and it's the last game of the season~It's the 2nd half of the game we're tied 1 to 1 and it's starting to get very heated on the field~there's tripping and falling soccer players all over the field~our boys are playing great~making great passing plays~Wyatt gets the ball passed to him and he kicked it right in the goal! In fact he made 2 goals! Top scorer for the last game of the season! We are so proud of this kid~who had never played soccer aside from recess he made hugh steps of improvement and met almost every goal he made for himself for soccer!! Now it's on to Basketball season! Wyatt has turned into an Athlete and a very good one~

Wyatt and his friend and teammate Alistar~They had so much fun playing the last game!
Wyatt has joined photography club and when he came home from his first meeting this was one of the pictures I found on his camera! He is so damn skinny he fits inside a locker! This one I also found~and I really think it's a great picture of Wyatt! My handsome son is growing up so fast and loving Middle School!

Wyatt's School Pictures

Wyatt brought home his school pictures today I think they came out so wonderful! It truly amazes me how much he has grown up! I'm so pleased with how his smile looks..I told him not to do a fake one..he doesn't fake smile well at all. Heck neither do I. School is going pretty well so far Wyatt has a B average right now and with continued hard work it will get even better.
Wyatts soccer game this past weekend was canceled so he has two games this week. He is still enjoying soccer they won the last game they played Wyatt had a cold so the coach didn't play him the whole game..he was having a hard time breathing. Grammie and Wyatts dad Matt came down to the game. Wyatt was thrilled to have them here to see him. It meant a lot to Wyatt that his dad finally came down to our house to see where he lives. It was a great visit.

Wyatts first soccer game

What a night I sat on the side lines hardly able to contain my excitement my son in a huddle with the rest of his teammates (the green team) getting the before game pep talk from the coach! The game begins and well if you know me I was cheering and hollaring! It was awesome beyond words I have never experienced this sort of high I felt on top of the world and my son was doing all the work! He played his heart out and it was the first organized sports game he'd ever played. The coach kept him in the game the whole time never changing him out like he did with most of the other kids. I am so proud and can't wait to his next game this Saturday. Grammie drove down from Fryeburg to see the game and she and Stephen and I had so much fun watching! I think we have a future soccer player on our hands and I am thrilled! Wyatts already thinking high school! This is a confidence booster for him and an incentive to keep his school grades up! Way to go Wyatt!! I love you and am so proud of you!

Just Mom and Me

I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with my mom and it was relaxing! Mom put me to bed on Friday night at 6:30..I was so tired and it was a great 12 hour sleep! We went shopping on Saturday and I watched her make 4 apple pies! My mom is the next Paula Dean she is a wiz in the kitchen. It is truely amazing that I am her daughter and I don't bake! (at least not like my mom!) I love going to mom's for the weekend I eat well and it's just a place where I can kick back and feel sort of like a kid again. My mom is fun to hang out with we laugh and have our "girl talks" talking with mom is comforting to me. I know I can talk to her about anything and she will give me her most honest opinion. It's so cool to be friends with my mom and I am so glad to have her in my life! Thanks Mom for always looking out for me and having my best interests at heart. I know there isn't anything that you wouldn't do for me and I know how much you love my son. Wyatt is the luckiest kid in the world to have you and Grampa. And I am as well.
Time to get all geared up for another work week! Gosh why can't I just once win the Powerball! I only need to win it once! Mom don't forget to check your tickets we got on Saturday...and make sure to call me ASAP if you win so I can turn in my notice at work!! Wouldn't that just be the bomb!! Love you MOM! Thanks for everything and your apple pies rock! If anyone doesn't know Mom is in the picture with me.

The brave one

He did it he wore the jacket today! And over all it went well and he was proud of himself. I was proud of him as well..Wyatt isn't one of those kids that truly cares what others think. He may follow the crowd when it suits him, but he does have his own drummer that he follows on occasion. I know it's not easy to be a kid trying to find that place where you fit in. I know Wyatt is on the right path..though rocky at times to finding his place.
